Morocco: Training to Go!

August 15th I move to Morocco!

“Choose right now to embrace fully the sacrifice of your calling. Let go of what you are giving up. End this chapter well so you can start well……our Father doesn’t call us to things that are easy.”

The Journey

Flying!

As you read this I am mid flight moving to Morocco! Can you believe, it is here! Our Father told Abraham to go and he took that step of faith and went... he didn't know where. At least I know where that step of faith is taking me. What a privilege to be part of His big story.

Training

Two weeks ago I came back from Fort Collins, CO and long-term orientation for teachers going to teach for 9 months or longer. I was with 33, 20-somethings most just out of college and ready to go teach long term in countries in North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. What a sweet time to connect with this community and share a common vision of sharing light in places with no light.

(above: Kit, my teammate; we will teach at the same school; and share an apartment.)

Where?

I will be teaching at a Moroccan Montessori in Agadir; 6-8 year olds.

How long?

The next two years; or beyond? ;-)

When?

Flying there right now; start teaching August 25th

Training

We spent our two weeks each day from 8 am to 5 pm in classes for spiritual growth, teaching methodology, language/culture development, sharing about our Beloved in our cultures, and all we needed to know about the support we have through our organization while on the field.

We started these relationships with other teachers in our cohorts through 6 weeks of online training before meeting in person in Fort Collins.

So needless to say I felt very connected to our cohort even before we met in person.

We stayed in the dormitory on Colorado State University. This plus just being together so much knit our hearts together.
